Brief introduction of Ningbo Short Film Festival

The Ningbo International Film Festival originated from the Ningbo Microfilm Competition in 2013, established by the Ningbo Broadcasting and Television Group, and is held annually. Starting in 2016, it was upgraded to the Ningbo International Microfilm Festival; in 2019, it aligned with international standards and updated its name to the "Ningbo Short Film Festival", abbreviated as NSFF. In May 2020, the Ningbo Short Film Festival was approved to join the Short Film Conference, abbreviated as SFC, becoming the seventh in Asia and the only event in mainland China to be recognized by the SFC at the international level.

The fifth Ningbo Short Film Festival was guided by the Publicity Department of the CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee and the Short Film Conference (SFC). It was co-hosted by the Ningbo City Culture, Broadcasting, Tourism Bureau, the Ningbo Municipal Government Foreign Affairs Office, and the Ningbo Broadcasting and Television Group. The Ningbo Educational and Cultural Communication Co., Ltd. was responsible for its implementation. The festival primarily consists of a film competition, a series of film exhibitions, and an awards ceremony.

Introduction to the Golden Conch Award

The Fourth Ningbo Microfilm Festival:

The Fourth Ningbo International Microfilm Festival's main competition categories are the Microfilm Category and the Internet Screenplay Category. Non-competitive categories include the "Upright China Category" and the "Special Focus Category". For this edition of the festival, the prize money for the Golden Conch Award for Best Film was increased fivefold to 100,000 yuan. The prize money for the Best Internet Screenplay is also as high as 100,000 yuan. With the director support plan, the total reward exceeds 2.3 million yuan.

The Fifth Ningbo Microfilm Festival:

The Fifth Ningbo Microfilm Festival has set up three categories: short films, short videos, and screenplays, totaling 34 awards with nearly 300,000 yuan in prize money. The short film category alone includes nine awards: Golden Conch Award for Best Short Film, Jury Recommendation Award, Best Foreign Language Film, Best Director, Best Screenwriter, Best Cinematography, Best Production, Best Actor, and Best Actress. The short video category selects 20 outstanding teams, and the screenplay category recognizes 3 to 5 outstanding screenplays.
